As the community served by the SDOC has grown, so has the group of volunteers who sit on the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees comprises a group of volunteers who hail from diverse industries and experiences with the collective goal of enhancing the educational opportunities afforded to all students in grades K-12. We support innovative and creative educational programs and special projects designed to enrich the minds and bodies of the 3,700 12 students enrolled in the District’s six public schools. We operate independently of the Board of Education and Parent Teacher Organizations.
PUJA SWAMY, President
Puja is a dedicated leader in healthcare and community development. She brings extensive experience in strategic planning and collaboration to her role as president of the Chatham Education Foundation. As Chief Operating Officer, she focuses on enhancing capabilities and optimizing operations while prioritizing stakeholder engagement. Committed to advancing education, Puja aims to leverage her expertise to foster collaboration and guide the organization in enriching communities and supporting learning.
PRIYA VOLETI, VICE-President
Priya has dedicated her career to education, beginning as an elementary school teacher in New York City public schools before transitioning to higher education. She is a Montclair State University professor, teaching undergraduate and graduate students in the Elementary Inclusive Education program. Priya’s passion for educational innovation aligns with the mission of the CEF, which aims to provide teachers with funding opportunities to implement creative grants that enhance academic excellence in the Chatham schools.
SUZANNE DAVID, Secretary
Suzanne has lived in Chatham with her husband and three children for over twenty years. She was a corporate real estate attorney in New York City for 12 years before leaving to raise her children. She is currently the office manager at Stanley Preschool. In addition to serving as a trustee and Grants Chair of CEF, Suzanne has been actively involved in various PTOs in Chatham and with the Chatham Girl Scouts.
DAVID KUBLER, Treasurer
As a financial leader in the healthcare space for 25+ years, David has experience in all aspects of accounting and finance. David is responsible for the CEF's financial planning, bookkeeping, tax, and audit. David combines financial acumen with a passion for the CEF mission to drive innovation and elevate learning in Chatham’s classrooms.
